OnVideo: SEA Semester

I was pleased to be hired by OysterCatcher Studios to contribute some music to an excellent film about the SEA Semester study program

In case you haven’t about this school, it is the equivalent to a “study abroad” semester for college students, except that instead of traveling to a foreign country, they spend half a semester learning how to navigate, sail, study the ocean, and about other maritime issues. Then they spend the 2nd half of that semester sailing in the Atlantic ocean on an enormous boat.

Note: View the video fullscreen by clicking the little square icon next to the volume control. The video file I uploaded is 640×360 so it should look pretty darn good.

If you watch the video, you’ll get the general idea. Ryan Maneri, the principal force behind OysterCatcher, did a super job with this film, and I was thrilled to be able to add a few things. Some tracks I scored that you will hear in the film:

Welcome to SEA (opening sequence)

Life at Sea

Academic Adventure

Campus Jam

Flotsam and Jetsam

Class Closure (ending sequence)

I think the end result is quite nice, and I really enjoyed the other music that was used in the movie. If you check out the credits at the end you can see the other artists that contributed something. I will update this post later and link to their sites. You also find the video on the SEA website.

You can leave a response, or trackback from your own site.

Laura,

Thanks for posting this blog about the video Ryan did with your music. For some reason in my Google Alert it came up with “Semester at Sea” rather than “Sea Semester” but that’s obviously not how you posted it here. Don’t know how that happened.

Great feedbaco on the video; I hope people will get to it from your blog as well.

Glen

Whoops! I think you have confused me for one of the other musicians whose work was included in the video. But thanks for stopping by!
